Carbondale Area dropped a 47-45 overtime battle with Dunmore in their D-II opener. Meanwhile, Lakeland made its D-III debut a successful one with a 67-53 victory over Mt. View. Forest City lost a 42-40 contest to Susquehanna in their D-III tip-off.

Carbondale Area was unable to overcome 24 turnovers as the Bucks produced a 6-45 overtime margin for the win.
Despite 11 turnovers in the first 10:00, the Chargers produced a 7-0 spurt to start the second period for a 16-8 margin but were unable to seize control of the game when they came away empty on their next three possessions on breakaway situations.
Michael Torch and Tom Mauro, who claimed six rebounds, three assists and a steal in the first 16:00, netted five points apiece in the first half for a 20-17 margin.
Both teams had the upper hand in the second half but were unable to distance themselves with more than a possession lead.
The Chargers had two shots in the lane trickle away in the final :06 of regulation and missed the final shot of the overtime period,

After extending an 18-10 first period lead to 32-22 at halftime, Lakeland iced the win with a 24-6 third period spurt.
Sophomores, Kyle Kiehart (19), Eric Grabowski (12) and Tyler Brady (11) led the Chiefs’ attack.
Susquehanna 42 Foresters 40
Forest City saw a seven point, early third period lead evaoprate when the Sabers went on a 17-9 surge.
Joe Caruso (21) topped the Foresters’ scoring.

CA overcame a 4-21 first half shooting effort and 26-11 halftime deficit to tie the game at 37-37  early in the fourth period before missing their next nine field goal attempts.
Michael Torch (18) ignited CA’s attack.
Chiefs 83 West Side CTC 58
A 24-12 start and 25-13 third period run propelled Lakeland to victory.
Kyle Kiehart (26), Steve Munley (14) and Ryan Nichols (11) hit twin digits for the winners.
Dunmore 65 Foresters 48
The Foresters fell behind 35-24 at halftime and the Bucks extended the lead in the second half.
David Cavalieri (17) and Ken Swartz (10) paced FC’s attack.
