Dorothy A. Moran, of Carbondale, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at the Carbondale Nursing Center. She was the widow of William B. Moran, who died January 3, 1979.
Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Cyril and Anna Constaine Osborne, she was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church, and a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School. Prior to her retirement, she was the housekeeper at the St. Rose of Lima Rectory. She was previously employed in the garment industry, working as a floor lady in several local dress factories. She loved playing bingo, cards, and taking trips to Atlantic City.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Carbondale Nursing Center and AseraCare Hospice for their compassionate care.
Surviving are: a daughter, Ann Heenan and husband Patrick, Carbondale; a son:, William Moran and wife Johna, Carbondale; and two grandsons, Michael Moran and Matthew Heenan.
She was also preceded in death by: a grandson, Billy “The Kid” Moran; and a sister, Marie Spadnick.
As per her request, cremation was held, and there was no public viewing. A memorial mass will be held Friday, April 29, at 9:00 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church. Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale.
