Linda L. Blank, R.N., age 65, of Greenfield Twp., died Sunday afternoon, April 17, 2011.
Linda L. Blank, R.N., age 65, of Greenfield Twp., died Sunday afternoon, April 17, 2011, at Marian Community Hospital.
Born September 24, 1945, in Peckville, she was the daughter of the late Fred, Jr. and Louise (Owens) Blank.
After graduating from Pittston School of Nursing, she worked at Moses Taylor Hospital as a Registered Nurse, the Emergency Department at Methodist Hospital, Philadelphia, and at Marian Community Hospital. Her rapport with the staff and doctors at every facility she worked at was second to none. She was highly respected in her field of emergency medicine and her career of nursing.
She was a member of the East Benton United Methodist Church.
She was affectionately known to all as Aunt Linda and could be found many weekends scrapbooking and putting together albums for her family. In addition, she was an avid cross stitcher and enjoyed wood craft painting. She enjoyed traveling and her favorite destination was Ireland.
Linda was a huge animal lover. Her pets were her companions and brought her great joy. Her greatest joy in life was her nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by them.
The family would like to thank the staff of Marian Community Hospital and the Carbondale Nursing Home for their care and compassion given to Linda.
She is survived by: three brothers — Randy Blank and wife Bev of Greenfield Twp; William Blank, Sr. and wife Jane of Greenfield Twp.; and Larry Blank, Sr. of Whites Crossing; six nieces and nephews — Randi, Tressa, Diana, Larry, Lonnie and William, Jr.; two great nieces and nephews, Tyler and Kiralynn; cousins and aunts.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Fred "Bud" Blank.
The funeral was held Thursday, April 21 from the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 18 Airport Road, Clifford, with the Rev. Arthur Davis, officiating. Interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford.
