Mrs. Elizabeth “Bette” Fuhrman, age 90, of Newark, Delaware, died on Thursday, April 14, 2011.


Mrs. Elizabeth “Bette” Fuhrman, age 90, of Newark, Delaware, died on Thursday, April 14, 2011.
Born in Simpson, Pa., on July 16, 1920, Bette was the daughter of the late Richard Williamson and Hazel Cyphers Williamson.  She was a graduate of the Brown Business School in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was employed as the secretary to the vice president of the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation in the 1940s.
Active in her community, Bette was a longtime member of the Limestone Presbyterian Church and the Newark Senior Center.  She participated in classes offered by the Academy of Lifelong Learning for many years.   She also enjoyed traveling throughout her life.
She is survived by: a son, Lee Stewart Fuhrman and wife, Pam, of Newark, Del.; a brother, Dean Williamson of Hopatcong, N.J.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by: her husband, Stewart Fuhrman; daughter, Deborah S. Helton; and brother, Richard Williamson. 
A committal service was held  Wednesday, April 20, in the chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, Del. Arrangements by Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes & Crematory.
