Carbondale Business Association (CBA) will sponsor its annual “Christmas In A Small Town” on Saturday, Dec. 3, beginning with the arrival of Santa Claus and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer at 10:30 a.m. on a Steamtown locomotive at Pioneer City Station.


Carbondale Business Association (CBA) will sponsor its annual “Christmas In A Small Town” on Saturday, Dec. 3, beginning with the arrival of Santa Claus and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer at 10:30 a.m. on a Steamtown locomotive at Pioneer City Station.
After his arrival and greeting children at the train station, Santa will proceed to City Hall and hear children’s wishes in City Council Chambers on the second floor (numbers will be given to each child to avoid standing in line).  Each child will also receive a gift, compliments of the CBA, and treats provided by Mayor Justin Taylor and City Council.  Photos with Santa will also be available by Candids by Cori.
Other activities at City Hall and downtown will include:
Christmas Carols by Junior Girl Scout Troop 144 and Cadette Troop 181; hot chocolate and candy canes compliments of Levine’s Upholstery and J.C. Vinyl Siding & Windows; free coloring books and crayons donated by Coal Cracker Cruisers Car Club; coloring/craft pojects conducted by Carbondale Area students; ornament making at the Carbondale Public Library; complimentary punch and cookies at the Ben Mar Restaurant from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Cozy Corner Cafe buy one lunch, get one free.
Super Saturday Sales will be offered by Art Strands Jewelry & Gifts (15% off total purchase), Roselle Dept. Store (20% off all outerwear), and Wallis Furniture (everything reduced; extra 20% off pictures, lamps and accessories; free delivery in time for Christmas).
