Marlene Caudullo, age 78, a lifelong resident of Carbondale, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at the Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was the wife of Anthony S. Caudullo for 59 years.
Born July 23, 1933, in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Anastasia (Nimchick) Rotko.
She was a 1951 graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, and owned and operated Happy Trails Travel Agency in Carbondale for many years. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Mayfield. She was also a member of the Ladies Professional Business Club and the Red Hats Society. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Dr. Salvatore Scialla and the 8th floor staff at the Regional Hospital of Scranton for their kind and compassionate care to Marlene.
She is survived by: two sons — Anthony C. Caudullo and wife Jean of Browndale; and Michael A. Caudullo of Carbondale; five grandchildren — Kathryn of Browndale, Laura of Pleasant Mount, Joseph of Clifford Twp., Melissa of Forest City, Madison of Carbondale; two great grandchildren — Onyella and Stella; a sister, Dolores Lawn of East Earl; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Rotko.
A funeral service was held Saturday, March 17, from St. John The Baptist Russian Orthodox Cathedral, celebrated by the Very Reverend Mitred Archpriest John Sorochka. Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Twp.
