Selena Cerra, a junior at Holy Cross High School, has been selected as the representative of the Philadelphia section PGA for the 2012 Ryder Cup Junior Golf Academy.

Selena Cerra, a junior at Holy Cross High School, has been selected as the representative of the Philadelphia section PGA for the 2012 Ryder Cup Junior Golf Academy, conducted by the PGA National Organization this summer at PGA Village, Port St. Lucie, Florida.
The Ryder Cup Junior Golf Academy is a seven-day program conducted annually at the PGA Center for Golf & Learning.  Award-winning PGA professionals from across the country will team with the on-site staff to provide coaching and instruction with emphasis on swing mechanics, competitive course management, technology, fitness and physical assessments.  Past Ryder Cup Team Captains will be invited to participate and share insight on the history of the Ryder Cup and match-play competition.
Selection for the Academy is based on academics, a high desire to excel in competitive golf, character, community service, and the submission of a personal essay.
Selena has been a member of the Philadelphia Junior Tour since 2008.  Last summer, she finished first at a tour event held at Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort.  She plays on the Holy Cross Varsity Golf Team, and  has been named the team’s Most Valuable Player for the past three years.
Selena is a resident of Crystal Lake, the daughter of John and Linda Cerra.
