Valley View High School’s 30th anniversary performance of the musical “Fiddler on the Roof” will be presented Friday and Saturday, April 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, April 15, at 2 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
Over 100 students are in the cast, crew and orchestra. The production team includes Gina Lupini and Jovanna Rusnak as directors, Ken Rupp (light and sound crew), Paul Hansen (set building and stage crew), and Amy Wilensky (art crew).
The production team also enlisted the assistance of drama/theatrical professionals Joseph Caputo, Tony Nicosia and Theo Lencicki as drama consultants.
“They are thrilled to have them on our team,” stated Gina Lupini, “as their knowledge and expertise certainly enhance the entire production.
The rehearsal accompanist is Michael O’Malley, and lights and sound are coordinated by Craig Friedman.
“I must also mention the kindness and generosity of Rabbi Joe Mendelsohn of Temple Israel in Scranton,” Lupini added. “He offered his time to talk with our cast members, and provided great detail and insight about his religion. He also let us borrow his prayer shawl and yarmulke for the young man who is portraying the role of the Rabbi in our production.”
Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students, and are available in advance by calling the high school at 876.4110.
