  • On Feb. 21, a PSP trooper arrested Gary Allen Anderson, 54, of Olyphant, for failure to comply with Megan's Law requirements by failing to provide employment information when he registered as a sex offender as required.
Anderson had been running two separate businesses at 310–312 Lackawanna Ave., Olyphant. He was originally convicted in September 2001 with aggravated sexual assault in Texas. As a result he is classified as an out-of-state life-time Tier 3 offender and is required to update his sex offender registration quarterly and notify PSP within three days of any change of address or employment status.
Anderson was arraigned before District Judge Mercuri and released on $5,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Feb. 27. For additional information regarding sex offenders, visit www.pameganslaw.state.pa.us.
