GREENFIELD – Sunshine, golf and good cheer is a way to celebrate a life's legacy. That's what many area golf-enthusiasts have to look forward to at the annual Judy Zitterman-Thomasina McHale Memorial Golf Tournament on September 9th.
2017 marks the thirteenth year for the event, which fundraises for local recipients.
“We always pick local recipients,” said Tiffany Shaffer. “Any kind of cancer or debilitating disease. Doesn't have to be just cancer. And we do fundraising all year round.”
Thomasina McHale, whom the event is partly in honor of, passed away a couple years ago from breast cancer, but not before starting this important fundraising event.
Thomasina's son Zack along with Tiffany Shaffer took over the event to carry on her legacy.
The golf tournament will take place at the Skyline golf course in Greenfield township on September 9th from 1 to 4 p.m.
There are also 50/50 tickets and “Cancer Sucks” T shirts to purchase.
One other fundraiser going on at the same time is raffling the large Basket of Cheer, which contains a lot of liquor and alcoholic beverages. Of course, rafflers should be 21 years of age. This generous basket was donated by the Friends of Thomasina McHale.
Look forward to this event September 9th.
