Laura Romanovich of Peckville was among The University of Scranton full-tuition class of 2018 Presidential Scholars who attended The President's Business Council (PBC) 16th Annual Award Dinner for which the proceeds from the more than $1.2 million raised will support the University's Presidential Scholarship Endowment Fund.

More than 500 guests attended the dinner at The Pierre Hotel in New York City in October.

The dinner honored Scranton graduate Dennis J. McGonigle, chief financial officer and executive vice president at SEI Investments, with Jesuit school's President's Medal.

Presidential Scholarships are four-year, full-tuition scholarships awarded to incoming freshmen with outstanding records in high school and notable community involvement.

Through its past 15 dinners, the PBC has generated $13 million for the scholarship fund.

Romanovich is a biology and philosophy double major and member of the University's Honors Program and its Special Jesuit Liberal Arts Honors Program.
