May 1st is called College Decision Day.

The date gets this moniker because all seniors must make their college choice by that date. The pressure is off for the seniors now. The long application/acceptance journey is over and they are shown in the picture wearing the t-shirts and/or sweatshirts from the college they will attend.

At Carbondale Area, we celebrate College Decision Day by allowing the seniors to wear these shirts with their uniform pants or shorts.

We wish good luck to our seniors and hope they will work hard in these institutions of higher learning to create a rewarding career for themselves that they will truly enjoy. Collin Heenan is planning to attend Johnson College of Technology. When asked why he chose Johnson College of Technology and what he is planning to major in, he said, “I chose Johnson College due to its proximity to my home, it had the major I wanted, and it was relatively low cost compared to other schools I applied to. I plan to major in Electrical Construction and Maintenance.”
