CJ’s Pizzeria on N. Church St. is owned and operated by Carmine Bonacci and his son Carmine Jr.
Why did you open a deli?  I was in the food service business for 35 years, starting when I was 14 years old.  I worked at Shadowbrook for 13 years, and my last job was at the Ben Mar Restaurant for 9 years.  I decided I’d like to have a place of my own, so started looking for a location about two years ago.  Then I saw the former Pizzaman was available, and we opened here on November 14.
What do you serve?  All kinds of pizza, subs, calzone, wraps, wings and speedies. Everything is from my own original recipes, like the pizza dough and sauce, and even the hot wing sauce.  One of my specialties is my chicken/bacon/ranch sub, with my own combination of seasonings.
What do you like about this business?  Everything is always changing, no day is the same as the others.  I like cooking different things, and the satisfaction of knowning people are satisfied.
