INCIDENTS
VEHICLE VANDALIZED — Christine Farrell, 126 Washington St., reported at 10:45 a.m. on Oct. 31 that someone vandalized her 2011 Nissan SUV while it was parked outside her residence during the previous night, carving scratches along the entire length of the driver’s side of the vehicle and denting the driver’s side door. Officer Corey Sidorek filed the report.
MINOR CITED FOLLOWING FIGHT — Christoph Rosengrant, 20, of Jermyn was cited for disorderly conduct and harassment after engaging in a fight in the lot of McDonald’s Restaurant on Route 6 at 12:32 a.m. on Nov. 1. Officer Joseph Janczak filed the report.
MAN ARRESTED FOR DUI — Erik Cain, 30, of 152 Pike St. was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol in a Chevrolet sedan outside of Building J on Westgate Dr. at 1:57 a.m. on Nov. 2. Officer John Evanina filed the report.
SHRUB BED DAMAGED — Fell Charter School principal Mary Jo Walsh reported at 9 a.m. on Nov. 4 that someone damaged the shrub bed in front of the school building on Farview Street. Capt. Joseph Pilcavage filed the report.
MAN ARRESTED FOR DUI, WARRANTS — Anthony Bloom, 37, of 20 South Main St. was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after being stopped by police at the intersection of North Main St. and Salem Ave. at 2:49 a.m. on Nov. 8. Police detected a strong odor of alcohol on Bloom’s breath and observed that his eyes were bloodshot, but he refused to allow a test to determine his blood alcohol level to be administered. He was informed that his refusal would result in an automatic one-year loss of his driver’s license, and a check on Bloom also found that he was wanted on outstanding warrants in North Hampton and Monroe counties for DUI and possession charges. He was transported to Lackawanna County Prison after the two warrants were confirmed. Officer John Evanina filed the report.
MINOR ARRESTED FOLLOWING ASSAULT — William O’Brien Jr., 19, of 38 Belmont St. Apt. 2N, was arrested after assaulting his sister’s boyfriend, Jose Melendez, who resides in the same building. O’Brien told police that he attacked Melendez because he was choking his sister. O’Brien was arrested on charges of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct, and he was released on $5,000 unsecured bail. Melendez was cited for harassment.

PARKED VEHICLE DAMAGED — Megan Gamalia, 127 South Church St., told police at 11:17 a.m. on Oct. 31 that an unknown vehicle struck her 2002 Dodge Stratus while it was parked outside her residence during the previous night, denting its front bumper. Officer Corey Sidorek filed the report.

MOTORISTS CITED — Bradley Hanichak, Dickson City, was cited for exceeding the posted speed limit along Route 6 in a Ford sedan at 2:17 a.m. on Nov. 10. Officer Fred Colonna filed the report.
Aaron Magnot, Scott Twp., was cited for exceeding the posted speed limit along Cottage St. in a Chevrolet at 6:10 a.m. on Nov. 15. Officer Fred Colonna filed the report.
