INCIDENTS
MONEY STOLEN FROM WALLET — Guerdon Hunt reported that he couldn’t find his wallet containing $100 in cash after purchasing several phone cards at Family Dollar on Route 6 and then walking out of the store at 11:20 a.m. on Dec. 10. He stated that he went back inside and spoke to the store manager at the cash register, who had checked him out and was in the process of waiting on a woman at the register. As Hunt was speaking to the manager, a store employee walked in with his wallet and gave it to the manager, explaining that he had found it outside near the shopping cart return area. However, the $100 was missing from the wallet. An investigation into the matter is continuing. Officer Timothy Mackrell filed the report.
DUI ARREST — Elizabeth Krenitsky, 21, of RR1 Carbondale was arrested near her home in her 2006 Chevrolet for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after veering off the road on South Main St. and striking a parked 2007 Honda owned by Jacqulyn Wagner, 24 South Main St., at 3:47 a.m. on Dec. 22. Wagner’s vehicle sustained damage to its driver’s side doors and fenders, while Krenitsky’s vehicle sustained damage to its passenger side front fender and rear view mirror. ACCIDENTS
POLICE VEHICLE STRUCK — Robert Smith Jr., Forest City, told police that he was backing out of the PNC Bank parking lot on South Main St. in a Carbondale Twp. Police Dept. vehicle and he was about three-quarters of the way out of the lot when the vehicle was struck by a 2005 Buick Century being driven by Larraine Kolcun, Simpson, at 11:30 p.m. on Jan. 6. The township vehicle sustained damage to its passenger side front door, while the passenger side front bumper of Kolcun’s car was damaged in the collision. Police did not get a statement from Kolcun at the scene, but left a message on her answering machine asking her if she wanted to provide a verbal statement about the accident. MOTORISTS CITED — Barbara Sokoloski, Archbald, was cited for exceeding the posted speed limit along Pike St. in a 2002 Honda at 10:11 a.m. on Dec. 30. Officer David Fofi filed the report.
