A self-described member of the Bloods street gang was arrested after police seized 53 bags of heroin and two bulletproof vests during a raid at his home early last Thursday.
Kimothy Smith, 26, of 39 Ontario St. was taken into custody by detectives with the Lackawanna County Drug Task Force.  He was free on bail in two separate cases at the time of the raid, involving charges of simple assault, harassment and theft.
The detectives found the 53 bags of heroin in Smith’s bedroom closet on Thursday morning.  Several of the bags were labelled “Lamborghini” from controlled purchases by authorities over the course of the investigation.
In addition to the two bulletproof vests, the detectives found a BlackBerry inside the residence which Smith used to arrange drug deals.
Smith was arrested on one count each of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia as well as two counts of unlawful body armor.
He was remanded to Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail following his arraignment, and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Dec. 15.
