Mary F. Caviston, 71, of Carbondale, died at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.

She was the wife of Wayne Caviston.

Born in Jermyn, daughter of the late Harry and Pearl Seymour, she was a graduate of Jermyn High School.

Prior to retirement, she was employed as a nurse’s aide at the Carbondale Nursing Home; she was previously employed at the former Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Carbondale.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the compassionate care given to Mary.

Also surviving are two sons: Wayne Caviston and wife Wendy, Louisiana; John Caviston, Blakely; 3 daughters: Arlene Balch and husband Michael, Tennessee; Cindy Oakley and husband Kenneth, Olyphant; Jean Caviston and companion Kenneth Thomas, Wilkes-Barre; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Richard and Harry Seymour.

The funeral was Oct. 19 in the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale, with services at 11:30 am by the Rev. Donald Perry.

Interment, Valley View Memorial Park, Montdale.
