Shirley E. Corrigan, 83, of Carbondale, died Sunday at the Forest City Nursing and Rehab Center.  She was the widow of Gregory L. Corrigan, who died January 17, 2015.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Bonita Bryden Wells and Roland Gilroy, she was a member of Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale and a member of its choir for over 13 years.

She was educated in Carbondale Public Schools.  Prior to retirement, she was employed in the local garment industry.  She was an avid bingo player, and she enjoyed casinos and horse racing.

Also surviving are two daughters: Patti Penzone and husband Jim, Fell Twp.; Cindy McGraw and husband Joe, Richmondale; one son: Bob Corrigan and wife Sally, Fell Twp.; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a brother: Ron Gilroy, Carbondale; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Laurie Corrigan; a sister: Joyce Looney; two brothers: Fred and Robert Gilroy; and a step-father, Milton Wells.

The funeral was Wednesday, Dec. 6 from the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale.  Entombment, Our Mother of Sorrows Mausoleum, Finch Hill.
