John C. Hessling, 56, of Carbondale, died Dec. 10, 2017 at home after an illness.

Born in Carbondale, son of Joan Supon Hessling, Carbondale, and the late James J. Hessling, he was a member of Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale.

He was a graduate of Saint Rose High School, Carbondale, and he earned as Associate’s degree in Science from Penn State Worthington Scranton.

He was a US Army veteran of Operation Desert Storm and a veteran of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 221, Carbondale.

He was employed at Tobyhanna Army Depot as a FireFinder Radar Technician.

Also surviving are two daughters: Helena Hessling, Dunmore; Paige Mandarano and her husband Paul, Scranton; a sister: Kathy Pelick and husband Bill, Browndale; two brothers Jim Hessling and wife Anne, Carbondale; Tom Hessling and wife Robyn, Milwaukee, WI; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral was Dec. 13 at 10:30 am from the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale.

Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
