Dorothy T. Collins, 98, of Carbondale, died Saturday, Mar. 17 at the Mountain View Care Center, Scranton.  She was the widow of Paul W. Collins, who died in July 1974.   Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Harold Edwards and Margaret Mather Tobey, she was a member of Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale.    She was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Class of 1937, and she went on to earn her Associates Degree in Secretarial Studies from Lackawanna College, Scranton.   Upon graduation from college, Dorothy worked as a legal secretary for ten years for the Welles and Mackie Law Firm in Scranton.  Dorothy and her husband then relocated to Detroit, where she became the secretary to the Vice President of the Chrysler Corporation, a position she held for five years.    When the family returned to Carbondale, she continued to work for lawyers in the Carbondale area. After her husband’s death, Dorothy began working as a teacher’s assistant for special needs children at NEIU 19.  After her retirement, she was devoted to the upbringing of her grandchildren.   Dorothy was an exceptionally well organized and intelligent woman.  She left an indelible mark on all who knew her.  She will be greatly missed.   The family would like to thank the staff of Mountain View Care Center for their exceptional care and compassion, especially Natalie, Danielle, Katie, and Jess and special friend Terri Gabriel.   Surviving are a daughter: Margaret P. Lo Cicero and husband Atty. Anthony F. Lo Cicero, Hawley; a granddaughter: Kathleenann Thomas-Muhammad and husband Rasheed, Scranton; a grandson: John Paul Peduto and wife Briana, Ft. Riley, KS; three great grandchildren: Ariyanna Thomas-Muhammed, Samarah Thomas-Muhammed, and Elizabeth Sophia Peduto; a nephew: John Paul Tobey and wife Antionette, Hawley; a niece: Margaret Olsen and husband Joseph, Dover, NH; great nieces and great nephews: Alexandra and Jack Tobey; Gretchen Drew and husband David; and Scott Olsen and wife Ashley; a cousin: Claire Hine, Carlisle; and several other nieces and nephews.   She was also preceded in death by a brother: John C. Tobey, who died in May 1984, and a sister-in-law: Trudy Gessler Tobey.   The funeral was Saturday, Mar. 24 from the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home, Inc., 55 Lincoln Avenue, Carbondale with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in Saint Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale.  Interment, Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Finch Hill.
