Carbondale Area claimed back-to-back wins to highlight boys’ basketball action.
The Chargers defeated Lakeland then resumed Lackawanna League D-II action with a triumph over Western Wayne.
Chargers 61 Chiefs 52
Keyed by Ben Gardus and Isaiah McCord, the Chargeras took control of the game with a 19-10 third period run and held off any Chiefs’ comeback attempt the rest of the way.
Gardus (20) and McCord (18) paced CA’s scoring while Tom Mauro added 12 rebounds.
Kyle Kiehart (17) led Lakeland and netted his 1000th career point in the first half.
Chargers 56 Western Wayne 39
The Chargers took command with a 19-6 start.
Jason McGovern (13), Ben Gardus (13) and Shyrif Rivers (10) paced the winners.
Valley View 58 Chargers 44
Valley View unleashed a 16-2 second period run that proved to be the difference.
Isaiah McCord (13) and Jason McGovern (10) led CA’s scoring.
Chiefs 65 Foresters 29
After an 18-11 first period battle, the Chiefs went on a 21-1 second period surge for control of the game.
Kyle Kiehart (27) and Mike Striefsky (11) led Lakeland while Noah Fedak (9) topped Forest City.
Lacka. Trail 57 Chiefs 43
A 14-8 start and 18-11 finish ignited the Lions’ win. Eric Grabowski (13), Alex Filarsky (11) and Kyle Kiehart (10) led Lakeland.
