Lady Chiefs topple Forest City

Lakeland avenged a first half loss to Forest City with a 48-38 triumph over the Lady Foresters to highlight second half action in Lackawanna League D-III basketball.

The Lady Chiefs, who had a shot to force a playoff for the first half crown in their battle with Montrose to end first half action, took a huge step towards another possible big game with the Lady Meteors to end second half action with the win vs. FC.
Trailing 23-14 at halftime, the Lady Chiefs (9-7 overall) went on a 17-9 third period run then seized the win with a 17-6 fourth period uprising.
Allison Kraky (16) and Breann Clauss-walton (13) paced the winners. Cassandra Bendyk (18) topped Forest City (7-8 overall).
Western Wayne 52 Chargerettes 35
CA (1-16 overall) had an 11-8 lead at the end of 8:00 but was outscored 16-3 and 14-8 in the middle periods.
Molly Carachilo (18) led all scorers.
Dunmore 60 Chargerettes 23
Dunmore jumped to a 35-9 first half lead. Hayley Skorupa (8) led CA.
Lakeland 62 Mt. View 32
Lakeland turned a 19-10 first period lead into a 45-20 third period margin with a 19-4 third quarter run.
Allsion Kraky (21), Breann Clauss-Walton (11) and Jodie Virbitsky (10) led the winners.
