Simpson resident Ron Hannivig has announced that a Fell Twp. Crime/Neighborhood Watch group is being formed, and township residents are invited to take part in organizing and running it.
Formation planned
Township residents who want to participate are asked to show up 30 minutes before the start of the next Fell Twp. Supervisors meeting, where the Crime/Neighborhood Watch members will gather together and appoint a single spokesperson to speak on behalf of the group.
Funding available
Hannivig told the NEWS that “there is a charitable organization which is currently receptive to provide the necessary funds to initiate and provide the seed money for this project.” He said the charitable organization is located in Simpson and, like many township residents, its members are “concerned about the escalating crime problem in Fell Township.” He explained that “although they have the funds available to support a Crime/Neighborhood Watch, there is currently no identifiable entity or principals to release those funds to.” Hannivig noted that the group being formed prior to the supervisors meeting would create such an entity and enable the funds to be issued.
