Another established local business is rising at a new location on River Street — Mancuso & Mancuso Accounting.
Seven years ago, Susan Mancuso bought a property overloong the Lackawanna River between Sixth and Seventh Avenues, from Michael Cerra, who operated a beauty salon there.
“We started the business in 1976 in our home on Garfield Ave.,” Susan said.  “In 1986, we put an addition on the house to make the office larger, but have steadily outgrown it.  The new Mancuso Professional Building will give us the space we need.”
The new office facility at 71 River St. will include two other businesses — an attorney and a financial planner.
Carbondale Area Builders, Inc., owned by Al Essig, is constructing the building, which Susan said should be finished in November, “just in time for tax season.”
“I’m so excited about this move,” she added.  “I  needed to expand and wanted to stay local.  River St. fast becoming another Main Street.”
Susan’s son Michael owns Figliomeni Pharmacy and Medical Supplies, which is also relocating to River St.
