The Carbondale PROmoting School – community – university Partnerships to Enhance Resilience (PROSPER) team in partnership with Goodwill Industries of NE PA, is holding a fundraising drive.  Donations of clothing, household items, furniture, computers and electronics will be accepted in the parking lot of the Carbondale Area Elementary school between 7:00 – 8:00 a.m. on Tuesdays, April 10 and April 17. A donation bin will also be available in the entrance of the school between April 3-13. Televisions and major appliances will not be accepted. Proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to support PROSPER evidence based prevention programs.

The PROSPER project is an innovative model for bringing research-based, scientifically proven prevention programs to communities in order to strengthen youth, families, and the community. The focus is on strengthening parent-child relations and problem-solving, building youth life skills, and teaching youth to avoid peer pressure or dangerous behaviors.

The PROSPER team is a collaborative of community partners who meet regularly to assist in program planning and implementation, help secure funding and resources, and provide support and assistance as needed. Working together, they implement evidenced-based programs that meet the needs of family and youth in Carbondale and the Greater Upper Valley, and facilitate the implementation of these programs.
