Scranton, PA –Richard Shellenberger, MHA has joined The Wright Center for Community Health as its Chief Operating Officer. Richard is an experienced leader and healthcare professional with over 20 years of outpatient and multi-specialty physician practice expertise, including service line strategic planning and execution, provider recruitment and acquisitions, ancillary services, facility planning and design, and revenue cycle management.
Prior to joining The Wright Center for Community Health, Richard served as the Chief Executive Officer of Integrated Medical Group in Pottsville, a position in which he was responsible for supervising a large multi-specialty physician group. A retired army major, Richard served as an officer in the United States Army Reserves from 1985 through 2006, and as a logistics/maintenance officer in Iraq in 2003. He has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal.
Richard earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration/management from Bloomsburg University and his master’s in health administration from Wilkes University.
