David Raven, President and CEO of The Honesdale National Bank, announced that Michelle Kowalewski has joined HNB as a Mortgage Advisor in Susquehanna County.
In making the announcement, Raven stated, “We are excited to have Michelle join the growing HNB team in Susquehanna County.” He continued, “As we expand our service level, we are fortunate to have someone so knowledgeable of the area to deliver our local services and showcase our community commitment.”
Kowalewski gained lending experience through agricultural financial institutions before joining HNB. Along with her time in banking, Michelle also worked as an Ag Enterprise Extension Educator for The Pennsylvania State University developing and delivering educational programs for youth and adults in the areas of agricultural entrepreneurship, business planning, marketing, and financial analysis.
“I am excited to join the HNB team in Susquehanna County,” stated Kowalewski. “I believe that both my agricultural lending experience and my involvement in the community will help me best service the community in which I live and raise my children,” continued Kowalewski. “My goal is to help simplify the process for both first-time and seasoned borrowers in hopes of creating a long-term banking relationship.”
Kowalewski gained her Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business Management from The Pennsylvania State University in 2001.
She is involved in the community as Susquehanna County 4-H Club Leader, Susquehanna County Junior Holstein Club Advisor and Dairy Bowl Coach, Harford Agricultural Society Member, Susquehanna County Dairy Promotion Committee Member, Susquehanna County Farm Bureau Member, and a Member of St. Mary’s Church in Kirkwood, NY.
She and her husband, Mike, reside in Montrose, PA with their two sons, Andrew and Christopher.
In her free time, Kowalewski can be found watching her children’s sporting events or helping them raise and show their 4-H animals including sheep, pigs, and cattle. The family also enjoys attending Penn State football games.
