Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Dunmore are investigating a fire that occurred at 21 Wilson Street, Jessup on June 7.

According to the release, issued by Investigating Officer Sandra VanLuvender, "a neighbor reported smoke coming from the home and a resident possibly still inside."

The resident, identified as 71-year-old Sandra Dubas, "...was able to make it from the home with the assistance of neighbors."

Dubas "...was transported to the hospital to be checked out and was treated and released."

The report states the fire damage "...was contained to the master bedroom of the home, but the entire home sustained heat, smoke and water damage."

The fire "...appeared to have started around the bed area and spread quickly from there," adding that the "...fire was ruled accidental in nature."

Police state the fire caused approximately $200,000 in damage.
