The Lackawanna County Housing Coalition has launched a new online directory of housing-related services at www.lchousingcoalition.org. The website is intended to provide residents of Lackawanna County with easy access to the many housing services provided by local social service agencies, including home repairs and improvements; emergency housing and homeless shelters; financial assistance; homebuyer education; and food, clothing, and furniture pantries.
“Until now, there has been no single platform available to the public to learn about the array of housing services available in our county,” said Meghan Loftus, president of the Housing Coalition.
“We hope this new online directory will become a one-stop shop for anyone in need of housing services or those looking to get involved in this ever-increasing need.”
The website was developed by students in Penn State Scranton’s information sciences and technology program. Under the direction of Professor Alan Peslak, students Dorian Anderson, John Martin, Jeff Panetti, and Dylan Webb developed the website as part of their spring semester coursework.
